twinned with trumpton

By MrFT

Out at 0730, Hers. at 0750, Barry's at 0810 and at the 0900 we were at practically Colquhar. Already present were Fi, Fi, Stevie G (not that one), Wee C, Marcus and Al with his 5 year old lad Harris.

We assembled to chum Allan up his last Donald (hill between 2000 and 2,500 feet in the south of Scotland - Fionas (formerly Grahams - I missed that piece of gender realignment) are the same height but encompassing the rest of the country). Keen students of MrFT will remember that on 21st December 2014, I attended the first compleation on the exact same hill, but since then Allan has battered around a 2nd lap (including all the tops this itme, not just the summits)

Skitey roads once we were off the A7. mind.

So off we went, an hour and a half up. I ended up lugging the not so wee Harris up when the grassy tussocks were getting too much for his little legs and we had great chats about his favourite teacher, his best pal (Alexander), why he likes Minecraft more than Mario Karts and his love of McDonalds. He was stumped by my question about his favourite vegetable. Oh well....)

So yeah; on a misty cold windy morning, we all made it up; Harris completed his first Donald before his dad compleated his 2nd round (see photo) Congratulations were proferred, biscuits were ingested (Harris, mostly) and off down the hill we went, smiling and jolly.

Off home and dropped Barry by which time I was starting to feel a bit queasy. I dropped Her home via Leith and in the process collected 4 boxes of paperwork that had lain in Her ex's best friend's cupboard for many years now. The ex's BF is now slowly succumbing to dementia and the boxes are probably best dealt with before things come to a head, so whilst we had the car etc etc.

I made it home, dropping Alex's maths tutor books on the last mile before collapsing into bed with a hot water bottle.

And bar half watching Arsenal and Newcastle do battle, I stayed under the covers and shivered.
