For London, cheap beer!
In a London bar where no beer costs more than a fiver. Given that there are pubs in Greenwich which will happily relieve you of £6 or more for a pint, I think the River Ale House is an absolute godsend, and the quality is great. OK, it may not meet the needs of your average lager drinkers, but if you like a bit of variety, the constantly changing boards above the bar offer a range of ales at a range of strengths (CAMRA members also get a discount off the board prices). And (OK, I am a biased regular), it is also a place to go for a friendly welcome - and dogs are particularly welcome too.
Today was my first day back working. I had an appointment during the morning with my dental hygienist, after which I eased myself in gently to the day's workload (still not completely recovered from my flu bug and cough).
