A domestic day
This morning I baked crackers and ginger biscuits, which turned out really well. Sometimes it’s good to play around with the recipe a little. After lunch MrMacD made some broad bean dip to go with the crackers, and together we made ricotta gnocchi with a tomato sauce for supper. The gnocchi were delicious and we probably ate a little more than we should have.
It’s been another dreich day, not a day for venturing outside unnecessarily. We could just about see the Silver Muse sailing out of the harbour at 5:30pm, a day later than planned. Hopefully that means the bad weather is starting to recede.
We bought the salt and pepper box in Kaikoura when we were there in November, simply because we really liked the style of it. The two herb jars in the bottom photo were catching the light and the reflection on the wall behind them was a bit of fun. I thought it looked like two big eyes.
