Happy New Year everyone!

Thank you for your helpful tips on tackling squirrels.  ( see yesterday blip). The water pistol arrived today, courtesy of Amazon but I have no great expectations that it will work.

Tomorrow we have some friends around for lunch so they can have a go with it.

Most of today has been spent  shopping and  planning  lthe menu for tomorrow with some advance preparations.

 Since Covid entertaining has been minimal . Once we used to do an annual  New Year buffet for thirty people . Now our maximum seems to be six. 
Fingers crossed the dishwasher behaves itself. There is still some life left in it provided we don’t overload it. 

The rest of the UK and Europe seem to be enjoying balmy weather with temperatures into second figures. Not so for us in central Scotland though the temperature did climb to 8C. at one point.
