Last Fledgling

We have been very luck to see robbin's eggs hatch and develop into fledglings.

See 25th April; 2nd and 7th May.

Yesterday all but one fledgling had left the nest and were huddled together just outside of it.

This morning those fledglings had gone and this last one was sitting all alone on the shelf.

Mum was nearby in the tree and this evening this one has left too.

I don't like the idea of these babies being out in the big wide world. This one still has fluffy bits on him and doesn't look old enough to be out there. I'm sure they would be happier in their warm nest. However, that's nature and I'm sure mum is pleased that her duties are coming to an end as she has been working so hard.
