Dark and Mysterious Water
Water, water everywhere just about sums up Dartmoor today. Normally firm areas to walk on have become quagmires and many paths have become streams. Around Burrator Reservoir can be found the ruins of several abandoned farms. Deancombe Farm now consists only of crumbling, moss-covered walls. Trees have grown up within and around the ruins, and like the walls are covered in moss and lichens. A large, square, moss-covered granite trough occupies an open space in the trees. Strangely atmospheric, it seems to act like a portal to another world. This shot was taken today looking down into it's dark and mysterious water.
