WHEN SKIES ARE GREY.......
Flavia13 goes out to play!!!
I felt so much better today, just a couple of coughing bouts so decided I neeeded to go out and get some fresh air, despite the weather not playing ball.
Hubby decided to stay home to catch up on chores whilst I wasn't there, but G said he would come with me. He wanted to visit the Roch Shop in Ambleside so that is where we went.
We parked at The Rydal Road Car Park, got a bit wet as just as we left the car the heaven's opened, still not too wet. We stopped off in Dodd's for a coffee. As it was 11.00am ie before lunch, they were only open for drinks so that was good as if they'd had cakes we probablly would have been tempted and we really don't need any more at the moment.
Afterwards we called into the post office to post off a birthday present, then into Boots for bits and bobs. We tried going to the Oxfam book shop but it was shut. So just went on up to The Rock Shop.
Ambleside was fairly busy but not overly so, in fact the busiest place was near The Bridge House and that was simply because the pavements are very narrow there. However as we came out of the Rock Shop it was beginning to get busier so we decided to move on and find somewhere en route for lunch.
We tried calling into the WIndermere Jetty Museum but that was closed so as we drove past The Belsfield Hotel in Bowness we decided to call in there to give it a try. It's a bit more modern than I usually as I tend to like olde worlde places, having said that it was still very nice and the food and service were good and friendly.
The main photo is taken from the ground of The Belsfield. Shame it wasn't a better day weather wise, but then it is only January.
That is all from me for today. Do take care and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
