Soul-fuel

My lovely friend swapped days off with me today so that I didn't have to go in to work at 8am this morning. It meant that at 720 when the sun was hinting at being nice, we could pack up and head to the beach. We were rewarded with the most beautiful sunrise and a gorgeous time together. She did of course run in the sea. Then bacon sandwiches and tea. 

We did actually end up stopping in to work, but only so she could say goodbye and get hot chocolate. I did some last minute jobs (like adding her new instruments to the insurance policy and retrieving her laptop from the repair shop who'd had it for 3.5 months!) and then packed the car. 

The 6 hour journey was utterly foul. The weather was awful and the roads were terrible. We had a near miss with an idiot on the wrong side of our country lane. We were very relieved to make it safely back to school
