The flower of Christmas.

We have this nearly every Christmas. Flowers are usually good to buy when the buds are not yet open to enjoy them for longer. However, "Amaryllis" (Hippeastrum) opens the buds very slowly and most often we can admire the full beauty just at the end of the festive season. On the other hand, we are having a prolonged time of colours in the darkness.
