Last evening

Back blipped on 2nd Jan.  I was hoping to post  from the ferry back to Ireland, but the internet was too pathetic to upload the photo, so instead I had to wait till we got home.  

R wanted to light the wood burner to demonstrate how homely it was, but really it was too warm in the house for that to be necessary.

So he made do with fairy lights and a couple of candlelights, which in addition to the lights in the downlighters in the hearth gave a lovely feel.

We had a quiet day - a trip to the shops in the morning to pick up a few essentials (crumpets!! and Wensleydale cheese).  After lunch the rest of the family went to a local park, but I'm afraid we opted out.  J provided a lovely evening meal, and we all retired to bed quite early - we had an early start the next morning to catch the ferry.
