New Year Walk

CyclopsJnr woke up to join the festivities at Midnight.  We had "champagne", rang the bell in the old church building we are staying in, and lots of laughs.  CyclopsJnr had water (to save cleaning his teeth again) in a champagne glass to join in, then hung out with us for an hour or so before retreating to bed.

The three boys were up at about 7am for first breakfast, followed by a bacon roll brunch for all later on.  We had a bit of a walk in the middle of the day to blow the cobwebs away, before saying goodbye to our friends (who were heading off to Manchester for a flight for a skiing holiday).

Our walk took in Dryhope tower (after a false start - a footbridge we used last year has now been condemned and closed).  We climbed to the top to enjoy the view and the boys enjoyed messing about and posing.  Looks like the have the making of a boy band...  They should name themselves "inside the rail".  Or maybe just "Caution" would be more apt...

Later we played Ticket to Ride in which CyclopsJnr beat MrsCyclops (who is usually a fiend at that one) to finish second.

By the end of the day he was shattered after a late/broken night and fell asleep before the end of his bedtime story.
