Old, Tired, and Worn Out
Not me, not me!
I am planning my Jaguar fun for the year and many and various trips, tours and days out are on the agenda.
To get the car ready I need to undertake some essential maintenance and today I started with tyres.
Did you know you can tell the age of a tyre from detail on the side wall. The tyre sizes are printed large but there will be a panel about an inch wide with the date mark of the tyre.
In my collage there is an image of the date mark on one front tyre and one back tyre.
Week 46, 2008.
Week 32, 2011
My front tyres are fourteen years old.
My back tyres are 11 years old.
No wonder they were noted as advisories on the MOT. The tread is not too bad due to low mileage but tyres do degrade over time regardless of wear.
I have provided the tyre sizes to a friend who deals in tyre fitting and now wait for the bad news!
It is an essential expenditure. A blow out at the speeds this car is capable of might not be the best start to the new year.
With high performance cars it's best to tread carefully.
HNY everyone!
