Happy New Year

We’ve woken up on New Year’s Day in our hotel, and had a deliberately very lazy day. We headed out to look at the Anderton Boat Lift this afternoon and have a stroll along the canal. There are loads of canal boats moored at Anderton, just in east London, and even a hipster one selling coffee and cake. This picture was taken close to where we parked and was one of several similar carvings hidden at the edge of the woods. There was no information about the artist unfortunately, and they looked like they’d been there a while.

We headed back to the hotel for a swim and are now stealing ourselves for the 15 minute walk to dinner. Hope the rest of the year is as peaceful as this. Happy New Year blippers!
