Cookies
I know the title doesn’t match the photo but I will explain. My Seattle sister creates 100s of cookies each year for gifts amongst family & friends. I’m fortunate to be a recipient. I wish I could share the taste !
This was the picture on the C’mas Cookie list (which is always included) and following is its content:
“ This beautiful flower is actually a succulent that Marla photographed in Volunteer Park here in Seattle Thanksgiving week. She was there with her sister Audrey from Pennsylvania, and a Blip-friend of Audrey’s from Renton whom she met on a previous visit. The succulent looks to be a beautiful flower, and then you touch it, (ouch!), it is, indeed, a cactus.
“But enough with cacti (is that really a word?) and let’s move on to the sweet treats. As usual, there are several traditional entrees; always offered, beginning with Appenzöller Biberli from the canton Appenzell, Switzerland, where Marla has her 1/2 roots, and several Italian entrees from her mother Vera’s side. Most of the rest of this year’s cookies are new, often to never be repeated. (Although I do see the Snowy-topped Brownie Drops seem to sneak in every now and then).
“With love (not to mention calories) from Marla, Kardos, & bob. (Not only last, behind the dog, but in lower case print. I get no respect).”
