New Year’s Eve
As I watched this robin sitting on the fence on the very last day of 2022 the opening lines of Minnie Louise Haskin’s famous poem came to mind :
And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year:
"Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown".
The poem’s title is often referred to as ‘The Gate of the Year’. Minnie Louise Haskin’s actual title of this poem is God Knows.
