Gingerbread stress

Not quite as easy as the instructions made it out - new found respect for the Bake Off contestants……

So the end of 2022. This year my niece Kate married Liam in a glorious rustic ceremony in Keswick, at which Sarah was a bridesmaid. In December Kate’s brother Peter married Christine in a wonderful cosy and festive winter wedding in York. In September my son David married Anisha over three fabulous days in London. All three occasions were filled with love, laughter, joy, memories, family and friends - we feel very blessed to have experienced them.

The rest of the year wasn’t so good. War in Europe, the fuel crisis, strikes, political upheaval, uncertainty - plus we lost Luna, John was hit by a car on his bike and the second half of the year has been full of anxiety and stress as my mother has been so ill in Plymouth. As we end the year she is back at home but not doing well, and my Dad is now in hospital too. More anxiety to come I’m sure but today they are both safe.

The end of the year is traditionally a time for reflection - I know many people whose 2022 was much, much worse than mine, so if you have had a tough year may 2023 be kinder to you. Have a peaceful New Year’s Eve and all the very best for next year xxx
