Along the shore of the Medway Estuary
Today we walked another section of the coast of Kent. If you remember we are trying to walk the Saxon Shore Way, but discovered on our last walk that the part we did then along the coast of Thanet, was not part of the Saxon footpath. So now it has become the Kent Coast walk.
This is a typical view of the North Kent coast hearabouts. Expansive marshes, mud, derelict boats and industrial skylines. A kind of foreboding place but facinating becasue of it. A haven for wildlife too, both on the water's edge and along the coastal strip.
The weather matched the mood too. A torrential downpour, just as we started off, cleared away leaving banks of lowering cloud with further bouts of wind driven rain.
