Montmartre

Not the day we expected... we expected that R's parents were going to arrive this afternoon but they unfortunately had a delayed flight that led to a missed connection. They will be here tomorrow, but we are sorry they've had to deal with the stress of this and with a missed day of their holidays. 

I went with R and T to "Les Petits Points", a yarn store in Montmartre where we bought some yarn for T as her Christmas present. She will make a beautiful sweater with this incredible combination of mohair and merino wool in a sort of "champagne" colour.  While we were waiting for the yarn to be spun, we decided to try some French tacos... a trashy street food that is awful for you, but was written about in the New Yorker last year -- see here.  I figured we might as well go all out with the trashy-ness so we went to an O'Tacos on boulevard Clichy near Pigalle surrounded by sex shops... the tacos were ok... I think I didn't order very well. We had a good laugh over it and a fun time and definitely did not leave hungry.

Ch and M played it safer and went to the Musée des Arts Decos and the Christmas market in les Tuileries. Ch now had the worst of the cold so we are hoping she'll turn a corner tomorrow.
