Forty-Three

I have not done as well with my reading total this year as last, nine behind the 2021 total and I didn't even manage to blip number forty-two (Freckles by Cecelia Ahern) but I have finished number forty-three this evening and enjoyed it. A debut novel with scope which will stay with me a while. My next one will be off my Christmas present pile but I don't think I will finish it before the year ends. I think my reading rate slowed down with the re-reading of the Jackson Brodie novels, including the one I have taught to Y13 for the first time. I spent some time this morning marking their mock exams and ticking that job off the list before the start of Term 3 next Wednesday. The weather is still not encouraging of venturing far but was drier this afternoon and Bailey has still had his walks even if we have needed to be very wrapped up.
