10 Years of Blips

We had a sprinkling of snow overnight. The boys, Pip and Gavin went skiing early this morning and they said that thin layer of snow made a difference to the skiing conditions this morning, but by lunchtime the pistes get so churned up and is not great. There is of course no off-piste skiing as there is no powder.

After breakfast I took Xena for a walk - I planned a long walk up the valley but as I stepped out the door onto the driveway I slipped, and realised that conditions were very icy today. I continued my walk but the paths were so slippery, the think dusting of snow fooled one into thinking that it fine for walking, but under the layer there was thick ice. I had to watch my step and slipped several times but luckily did not fall over. Even Xena slipped, it was funny to see her legs flying out as she was running over the path. I had to change my plans and we walked where we could avoid the icy paths and rather walk on snow covered grassy bits which were more grippy.

Today is my 3650th Blip, ten years of blipping and I am still here and don't plan to change that. I actually started on 2 January but with all the leap years that anniversary date has crept forward. I still enjoy thinking of a photo to blip every day, and I love reading other journals and seeing photos from around the world. Funny how one feels a connection to the people we know through blip even if we have never met. It is an incredible site for connecting people from around the world. It is a wonderful community that I am grateful for being part of. This photo and the extra were taken on my walk this morning.

Tonight everyone has requested cheese fondue for supper, which Gavin will prepare. I don't eat it as I cannot have lactose or gluten and as it is served with cubes of bread (and pineapple) it is not possible for me to eat. To be honest I find it a bit heavy so I am not missing out, I will have some salmon and salad which I prefer. Though I will have a glass of bubbly to celebrate my blip anniversary!
