On the Beach

My brother, John, and his family are staying with us tonight. I must say young Arthur was a very easy visitor compared to our more exhausting grandchildren but I was advised I was seeing him at his best!

John had some new interesting family history to impart. Apparently our grandfather's second cousin, Jean Lee, was the last woman hanged in Australia. It was in 1951 for her involvement in a murder. I knew there must have been someone famous in our family. 
I was pleased to note that Wikipedia at least described her family as "highly respectable". We are surprised we had never heard before as surely my father knew. He would have told us but I expect Mum forbade him :-)
