A social afternoon

I am still a bit behind but  I will catch up soon.

We pulled the bedclothes back and did a quick check for any unwanted visitors before hopping into bed last night.  Thankfully, we had an un-disturbed night.

We had a few chores to do this morning, then set out to deliver a few more calendars.  Friends had invited us for lunch and a relaxed afternoon - time to chill out for a few hours, so we timed the calendar deliveries with arriving at their place at 1pm.  We enjoyed a delicious lunch of salads, hot smoked salmon, cheese, bread and chocolate Yule log.  It was so nice to just sit and talk and relax and enjoy being with our friends for a few hours.  So very kind of them.

We drove home and I dealt with a couple of emails to do with funeral arrangements before heading to bed. 

The sunflower was poking its head over the wall next door to our friends’ place; and it’s a week since Mum died, so I’ve added a photo of her as an extra, taken on my birthday last year.
