Sunday in Sapporo

Kinder weather today so we scampered around the city catching up on our sightseeing. One of the highlights has to be the most amazingly fresh sushi and sashimi we tried at the fish market. After viewing all of the stalls yesterday we decided to return and try some local dishes. I was a little uncertain when it came to the sea urchin and scallops but once again raw fish turns out to be a revelation, especially when beautifully and expertly prepared.

I have no idea what this group of people were doing in the picture but there was lots of drumming and flag waving going on as well as the rather unusual outfits!

Happy Sunday Blippers.

Travel has a way of stretching the mind. The stretch comes not from travel's immediate rewards, the inevitable myriad new sights, smells and sounds, but with experiencing firsthand how others do differently what we believed to be the right and only way.
