Inspired by graffiti on an old door
Yealand Quaker Meeting House was 81 years old when someone carved 1792 on this door. It is one of a pair of doors leading into the Meeting Room and both are peppered with letters and initials.
I wonder, were they once used as tables for the children’s Sunday School? - but why, then, did no-one reprimand the scribes for this vandalism?
