O Asimba

Writing this song has been my obsession for the past week. It came about when I woke up one morning with a great chorus in my head which sounded like it was being sung by a gospel choir. That’s where O Asimba comes from. In Kenya asimba means a single lion in a den. It is a mountain in Ethiopia, and as a name means “humanatarian, healer, intellegence.” The song is about climate change. Asimba symbolises strength and hope. I got nearer to completion with the words today. But it still might not be finished. What you see is only half a song. I’m offering it to a gospel choir with alternative choruses if they don’t like “O asimba.”
