Into the Outwoods
Basil went to the groomer this morning returning smelling much better and looking trim, despite eating a slice of gammon yesterday.
I wanted to go out having been incarcerated since Christmas. The rain and drizzle were incessant although no flood warnings went off. Len had wanted to go to Staunton Harold but I pointed out that I couldn't walk the distance to the lake and back so we ended up at Olivia's coffee house at The Outwoods, again.
The ground was wet and muddy, of course. Still some oak leaves provided a path to walk on up to the cafe. The air felt positively balmy at 11 degrees C.
Dinner was left over cold gammon sliced thinly, the remains of the braised red cabbage and apple, green beans and potatoes.
It's our practice to retreat to bed after the 10pm news on BBC but tonight's film was Salazar's Revenge: the fifth in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Len went to bed, I stayed up to watch but not to the end. Far too late. Perhaps, I might look it up on Disney Plus.
