Busboy Becomes Newspaper Boy
Lovely to have a Scottish newspaper hand delivered by Busboy who arrived this evening to spend a few days with us.
In other news, spent the day at my desk working on business proposals with half an eye on Sir Alex Ferguson's send off from Old Trafford after 26 years as manager of Manchester United. I used to see him from just a few yards every second Saturday at Love Street, St Mirren's ground, during three seasons over 35 years ago. I was there to see him lead us to the First Division Championship in 1977, a week after my father died, and then present again at the moment of his crowning glory in the Camp Nou, Barcelona when he lifted his first European Cup in 1999 and completed the English club treble. I feel I know him personally and had a wee tear in my eye as he walked out onto the pitch in Manchester today to a standing ovation. Truly an end of an era and my Saturdays will never be the same again!
