Carrick-On -Shannon...!!

We’ve had a lovely day out today visiting our Son and GFs new house and although a long drive it’s been very relaxing...
We met her parents for the first time too and had a great chat and then they took us out to dinner in a really nice Italian Restaurant...
A fabulous day....away from the house and all the cooking..!!
S was here to ‘dog-sit’ Mel so it all worked out well as we didn’t have the worry of leaving her on her own for so long..
The collage is a few photos I took as dusk fell in the town...it was beautifully lit up and that little Church has a very interesting history...but as we were in a hurry to dinner at that stage I didn’t have time to read all the history...I will the next time. It’s believed I think to be the tiniest church in Ireland..and I think built by a man as a shrine to his wife....ever such a small bit creepy as if you look closely you can see their coffins in vaults under the glass..and they died in the late 1800s ....I’ll really have to check it out as I like historical weird things like this...!!!
My extra is the back of my Coole Swan bottle if anyone is interested in reading it’s info....you may know of Baileys Cream Liqueur but Coole Swan is I think nicer..!
