My Splint
has three metal strips that run the length of it, so my leg can’t bend at the knee. At least when I don’t put my weight on my leg the pain isn’t bad, just dull. But walking on it is certainly not pleasant.
My son drove me home and I left my car at theirs because I was struggling with his stairs. I have all my home comforts around me here.
I got a call from an orthopaedic consultant today from Aberdeen, who said that he’d had a look at the scans from yesterday and thinks there may be more damage than initially thought, so he’s going to arrange for me to go to a local hospital for more investigations. Whoopee Doo!
When my son and I were walking the dogs just before I got knocked over, I was telling him that I was on course to walk 100 miles more than I did last year. Haha! I’m gonna miss that target now. Never count your chickens before they hatch, springs to mind.
I firmly believe that dog-walking should be reclassified as a dangerous pursuit! Four years ago I got knocked down by a big dog running fast in the park beside my house. I ended up in hospital with a subdural brain haemorrhage. Crazy dogs!
