Frosty

We've had a few cold days recently. This morning we had a hard frost and as you can see this pile of old floor joists are covered in frost. The extra is the frame for the roof of the carport/bikeshed. Yesterday the carpenter worked into the evening in bitter cold conditions to get the frame up.

Once the frame is complete the PV team will install extruded aluminium rails and then attach the PV panels to that. So the roof of the bikeshed/car port will be semi-transparent photovoltaic panels. When I came up with the idea at first I thought it was bonkers, but apparently it's not uncommon in France and has now become a far more common design, especially where the main roof has a poor angle or orientation, is shaded, or is listed. Our roof faces south, but is listed and isn't the best shape...
