would you like an old meter that I found in the workshop?

Those were the words spoken by a friend last week. Never being one to pass up on these offers I accepted and was presented with this Avometer.

It is an Avo model 7, manufactured in June 1946 and after a couple of tests I found that it is still quite accurate. A further surprise were the old Ever Ready Blue Seal batteries which I think must be around 25 years old at least and were found to be still going strong!

I wonder if my all singing, all dancing Digital Multimeter will still be going when it hits its 67th birthday!
