Old Harry Rocks
Great day walking with SR. Sunny with the predicted rain in the afternoon not amounting to much which suited us. After a minot navigational error - which on the plus side got us some great views of Poole harbour and Brownsea island we made our way along a fantastic spit of land to the fantastically named Old Harry Rocks. We thought of you Lapper. Apparently there is a rock for harry and his wife.
On the way back we called in at the Swanage Railway where they had a diesel weekend and we got to ride in a train pulled by a Deltic - which even SR commented was - an impressive bit of kit. Took me back. they were the diesels that pulled the east coast mainline trains from London to Scotland. The height of train technology at the time - Just old trains now but non the less impressive.
