Christmas Day

A rather frenetic start to the day, getting the turkey in the oven, finishing a few presents and wrapping parcels. Amazing we were all just about ready when CJ's parents arrived, and dinner was only half-an-hour late despite the oven getting switched off by mistake and nearly forgetting to cook the chestnut stuffing.

We had a gently sociable time, working our way though what seemed like a small mountain of food, followed by some gentle present opening with lots of hand-made gifts. R & C left about six, and the rest of us all crashed for about an hour, before regaining our second wind and playing our traditional Christmas games including Consequences, Exquisite Corpse, followed by a long game of Cards Against Humanity. J joined us about 10 p.m. and Pete and I made it to midnight before we finally collapsed into bed.
