Easter in Lefkimi

Greece celebrates Easter in the first week of May so we were lucky enough to see the celebrations at Lefkimi on the Island of Corfu.
There is a procession through the town which ends on the bridge that divides the town. Shotguns are fired and bombs thrown in the river.....all very noisey but amazing.
Once the service is completed the local women danced in national dress.
I was lucky to catch a shot to show the colour and beauty of Corfu.
