It's that time of year. I would probably like them a lot more if they weren't so closely associated nowadays with Halloween. I'm simply a grumpy old man who doesn't understand the whole Trick & Treat hype. Carving lanterns at Halloween was something I did as a child, even if it was turnips rather than pumpkins.

Just ignore me, but I'm put off by modern, commercialised Christmas, Valentine, Easter...... Don't fret, I won't be around too much longer, statistically, that is.
