A magical Christmas eve
We spent the morning adding finishing touches to the decorations whilst John took Jude to visit his friend in Larkhall.
After lunch Grace, Eda and I headed over to Bristol to the Old Vic for a very different version of The Nutcracker. ( Note Eda is wearing her sparkly red balled pumps!)
Not the ballet or the familiar music but an amusing and interesting take on the origins of the Nutcracker in a modern setting, if you’ve ever been to the Bristol Old Vic they are known for good but slightly alternative productions. Eda, who knows the story well, was a little confused but we all enjoyed it. They were supporting the work of St Mungos for the homeless in Bristol, a very worthy cause. The theatre itself has been revamped since my last visit but the interior remains the same, quite unique.
( The old wall is part of the bar area )
John had taken Jude swimming and Boppa was left to himself except he did make the stuffing balls and prepare some veg for tomorrow.
We got home just as it was turning dark and arrived to a wonderful array of party food and fizz. A fabulous start to the festive weekend.
Have a wonderful day tomorrow everyone if you celebrate.
Love the extra of the three of us taken by Grace even though the exposure is bad
