A moment of peace in the midst of the carnage

There's a game I play on the PC called Battlezone. It's based on the Call of Duty series and is free.

This is an image from that game. This is me looking at apples hanging in an orchard in one segment of the game.

What I find astonishing about this is that this is a tiny tiny irrelevant detail in a much much bigger game. But look at the detail! Normally one would just rush past this on the way to the next objective without giving the terrain and scenery a second glance, but this time I stopped to look. You can see the texture of the skin of the apple, for goodness's sake!!

I am still staggered by what can be achieved by home computers now. The next purchase will be a VR headset for my flightsim....
