Practice Makes Perfect

Our Varied Thrushes and I thank you for the stars and hearts on my previous blip! One of them has mastered a new skill today-- the main photo shows him balancing on the slanted feeder base quite well now, looking up at the seedy suet cake. He wasn't able to do that yesterday.

In the first extra photo, you see him just before "lift off"; in the second and third extras, in the same single second, he grabbed a tasty seed and looks very proud of himself!

Today's weather shifted from cold and icy to rain falling on top of the snow. The prediction for Saturday and Sunday is for windy weather with more rain and a high near 50 degrees F.  (10 degrees Celsius). That does not bode well for the farmers in our county, who experienced severe flooding when the Nooksack River broke free of its banks in November 2021. I hope that won't happen again!
