Favourite things
This is one of my favourite Christmas things, my Alessi Nativity. I've had it a few years now and it makes me smile every time when I take it out of its box where it's been since the 6th of January.
Today I went down to M&S early(for me) and picked up some wrapping paper. What a price! I hoped that having the needful would help me get on with doing the necessary, but no - the unwrapped present mountain remains unsullied and is in fact larger than this time yestersay. I fear the deadline is upon us though.
Ali arrived with Josie at around 2pm today, she's staying over while her parents and some friends gather to consume the Jeroboam of rather good champagne which they were given to mark Josie's birth over a year ago. The bottles was bigger than she was! They wanted to include the person who gave it to them so have been waiting for a suitable occasion and today is it! Josie is safe with us till tomorrow unaware that it is her head which is being wet, so to speak!
Thank you for the good wishes yesterday for Kathryn's 40th, as you could tell she has a good sense of humour. We had fun.
In other news, Isobel finally had her first ever flu vaccine, for some reason she's developed a real fear of it, its a nasal spray, not even an injection. It could be related to a bad experience with a covid test and a nasal swab in 2020. Who knows. Today though she has had her first dose ever, down to a combination of bribery and treats says Kathryn. With luck next year will be easier.
