Niece Work If You Can Get It.

Today our builders finished off a few jobs, tidied up and left. Never to be seen again. Not this year anyway. 

To date they have:

Replaced all windows with the exception.of the lounge bay and the front door. 

Replaced and upgraded all soffits, fascia, gutters and downpipes. 

Renewed the flat roof over the kitchen extension, together with replacement timbers, up to date insulation and lead flashing.

Fixed loose power cables and telephone lines, all external.

Made good and repaired all damp and damaged plaster where the old windows had let in water. 

Drunk large amounts of tea, kept up a constant stream of good natured banter, as well as advising on other important aspects of property  maintenance which we will address in the new year.

The blip is a view of our mantle shelf over the log burning stove, but most importantly a hand painted card from R, our niece' s daughter (our Grand Niece). A hand painted card by a six year old child means much more to us than any of the commercially produced ones. The thought that counts!
