Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you who are. Mrs. Cardinal (who is being treated like an unwed Mom by Mr. Cardinal) has a pair of chicks just over my bedroom deck. That is sort of a surprise as my feline masters often prefer it as a lounging area. But Mrs. C figured out they couldn't get to the nest and having them under it had a certain protection factor against other intruders. Hope you won't have to sit, literally, on your brood until they decide to leave the nest. PS this picture was even uglier in color. When do they start being red?
