Pohutukawa

The Pohutukawa tree is often called the New Zealand Christmas tree because it flowers in December.  It is most iconic when growing beside the coast or a favourite beach.  This one is growing in my street.  They can live for as long as 1000 years so I am guessing the houses will be gone by then but maybe the tree will still be here.  The day has been overcast with some showers so no blue sky but I actually liked the red flowers against the pale background.  It looks like I did something clever in post processing.
Happy weekend to all.
