Time to re-think Christmas cards?
Photo: Can you spot Ben Lomond in the distance , on the left hand side ? What a relief to get out for a walk away from the hassle of Christmas preparations especially on a day like today..
As for Christmas cards , people are either hand delivering, sending them electronically or not bothering.
Certainly as a result of the postal strike ours are down this year and days can go by without a single card arriving, something unheard of.
I think the postal strike is doing to Christmas cards what Covid did for commuting to work: looking for an alternative way of doing things.
And there are other options for exchanging greetings at Christmas, good old fashioned hand - delivery with the added bonus of a chance to catch up with neighbours, or the electronic version. Better still, a combination of both.
But I believe there will still be a demand for bespoke cards to ones nearest and dearest posted the traditional way- assuming we will still have a Royal Mail.
What do you think?
