San Francisco Market Street Railway
The Market Street Railway is San Francisco Munipal Railway (Muni) non preservation partner.
It keeps San Francisco's historic street cars and cable cars running.
The Market Street Railway not only preserves the City's street and cable cars but has acquired and restored cars from other cities. Here is a San Diego car.
Behind the car is the historic Palace Hotel opened in 1909, the original having been destroyed in the 1906 earthquake and fire. Woodrow Wilson spoke in favour of the Versailles Treaty here in 1919, his successor Warren Harding died here in 1923 and Kruschchev stayed here in 1959.
