Icy

Winter Solstice, and we'd half planned a morning walk in the College Valley, where there's a stone circle. But it was so windy, with gusts of 50mph, that we decided against it. Instead, an afternoon trip to gather some seasonal greenery for the flat, and a walk around Branton Lakes. The wind had died down a little by then, but was still enough to make the telegraph wires 'sing'. Surprised at how much ice there was on the lakes, given the much milder day on Monday. Black ice on the roads too.

Back home for a slice of cake and a wee tipple to celebrate the Solstice. The candles in the window (extra) were lit on the longest night, as we look forward to lighter days ahead.

Solstice blessings, Blippers.
