Narrow leaf yucca blossom
Another first bloom in the garden, this narrow leaf yucca that has struggled on and off for years due to dogs and neighborhood trash trees (ailanthus and locust) who constantly send up runners around it. I am really happy that it managed to bloom and so far has avoided the inevitable aphid attack.
Today was a strange day, a nice walk with my son and his fiancee, except for tripping which caused a face plant that resulted in loosening most of my top front teeth, the loss of the contents of my pockets (several spare camera batteries) which fell off the top of the dam we were crossing and into the water below, a broken watch strap and lots of road rash. I am really shook up from this which seems all out of scale to what happened. In the long run the injuries are trivial and feeling as crummy as I do seems all wrong.
Today, I give thanks for the day I was given, that my teeth are all still in my head and that the only thing that fell in the water was camera batteries (could have been me or the camera).
