The morning started off brightly enough so we decided to head down to the nature reserve. It was not too long before the forecasted rain started.
At the feeding station we were treated to not one, not two but three woodpeckers. They were chasing each other from tree to tree and not the least bit bothered about our being there.
They were very difficult to photograph in flight and didn't stay very long on the same tree before one of their number would come along and chase them off. I captured this flying squirrel with my very first shot of the day.
