Cruising

We went with ‘E’ to Southampton. Lunch booked for 1:30. Walked from station, stopping at Primark for shoes (I had accidentally put on old worn ones which slip on wet paving - these were duly binned).

Lovely 3 course Xmas lunch (nut roast for
me), fab views, attentive and friendly waiters. Too much wine and a glass of Grappa to follow outside on the terrace (so much milder!).

Walked back to the station. Passed this brand new cruise ship, the Arvia’ (blipped). Very tired feet. 14,000 steps later and was happy to be home.

Trains on a restricted service (strikes) and very busy both ways, but thankfully we
got seats!
