Burgh island

We are away in Devon for a few days. A friend has decided to celebrate her 60th birthday by hiring a big country house and getting all of her friends together . A lovely idea in principle but there is always the danger of getting stuck with a self aggrandising colonial type who insists on organising everyone into groups and who's company is like being hit over the head repeatedly by a sock full of wet sand. And I have a cold. And the weather is crap.
