Lyttelton Harbour from high above Allandale
As mentioned on yesterday's sunset shot, today was going to be all about the other end of the day.
Leaving home about 7.15am, I headed up towards Gebbies Pass. After snaking my way uphill in the truck along the summit road, stopping along the way at several places to grab some shots, just past Omahu bush I pulled in and clambered up the remaining metres to the crater rim overlooking Allandale, the Head of The Bay, and Quail Island.
The sunshine was glorious; the climb made my knees feel less so. Nevermind. Everything changes tomorrow when, hopefully, surgery will provide the fix that's been a long time coming. As such, blips might be a bit scarce for the rest of the week. Let's see what happens....
In the meantime, don't forget to take in the panorama
